More Native Wildflowers Sprouting

Several yellow-flowered Lomatium species (biscuitroot) native to Washington state bloom in early spring, often carpeting sagebrush steppe, rocky slopes, and open woodlands. Common yellow-flowered species include Lomatium triternatum (nineleaf), L. utriculatum (spring gold), and L. dissectum (fern-leaved), which are vital early-season food for pollinators and have a history of indigenous use.
Cutleaf silverpuff (Microseris laciniata) is a native perennial wildflower in the aster family, found in the western U.S. from Washington to California. It resembles a large, attractive dandelion with deeply lobed, "cut" leaves and bright yellow flowers that bloom from spring to summer.
Leaf with cut edges.
Found 12-15 at entrance by Kris Ann.
It thrives in prairies and forests, often serving as a key nectar source for bees.
