Learning Names of Trees in Community

Today's walk down Bedlington to Fenwick, 1.60 miles.
The Columnar Hornbeam Tree
It grows to a height of 30-40 feet and a width of 20-30 feet. This narrow form lends itself to narrow planting sites. In the fall, the foliage gives a modest display, turning yellow, orange, and brown colors. The male flowers are around 1.5 inches long and the female flowers are up to 3.5 inches long. The following fruits are small nutlets that hang from the branches in clusters up to 5 inches long in the summer. The Columnar Hornbeam's bark is an attractive, smooth gray.
Poplar tree leaf.
Could be quaking aspen.
Deodar Cedar
This beautiful evergreen has a pyramidal shape in youth that eventually becomes a broad pyramidal shape with a flat top as it matures. Give it room to grow! The cones are barrel shaped and sit upright on the stems. The clusters of green tufted needles and graceful pendulous branches make this tree a distinctive site in the landscape.
Size 60+' tall and 40' wide.
