Lots of Marah Vine

Lots of Marah vine has spread in many more places.
It is a native, also called cucumber vine.
Numerous indigenous tribes valued this plant using the dried durable fruit as a scrubber 
and the sap as a soap, for catching fish and medicinally

Lysimachia latifolia, sometimes called Trientalis latifolia, is a species of flowering plant in the family Primulaceae. It is known as starflower, chickweed-wintergreen, or Pacific starflower.

Fivespot Native Nemophila maculata

I found this cutie at the Arrowroot entrance near the trail. 
Nemophila maculata is a species of flowering plant in the Borage family, Boraginaceae. It is an annual herb that flowers in the spring, and it is endemic to California. In the wild it is found primarily in the Sierra foothills, but it is also planted extensively in gardens.

New Native Plant - Pacific Sanicle

This was growing next to a shooting star near cross trail south side.
I found a couple more.
Looking forward to their blooms.
In my nursery plot, with flowers!
Plant erect. Stem thick. Leaves alternate, divided into 3 or possibly 5 lobes, very sharply toothed; lower leaves with long petioles; upper leaves sessile. Flowers yellow, sometimes tinted purple, in 3–12 in. umbels at stem top; bracts at base of umbel are large, leaf-like. Grows on open slopes, woodlands, ravines near coastline and low elevations. Crassicaulis means "thickened stem." A variable, widespread plant found throughout the western states. Blooms mid spring, grows 1-4 feet tall.

Red Huckleberry

 

Plants look healthy.
Not many berries.
Vaccinium parvifolium, the red huckleberry.
It is a species of Vaccinium native to western North America.
Red huckleberry is a deciduous shrub from 1-4 m tall, with strongly angled twigs and bright green stems. The 10-25 mm leaves are elliptic to ovate, thin, and with a sharp point at the tip. The flowers are greenish to pinkish, and the blossoms are solitary in the axils of the lowest leaves of the youngest shoots.

Chocolate Lily Found!

This is the chocolate lily I found last year but couldn't find this year.
It was much closer to the fence than I remembered.
About 50 feet from the end of the fence. 
Growing the shade of this tree next to the bench.
Beautiful tall flowering chocolate lily.
It is about 5 feet from the tree.

Lots of Yellow Violets

This might be an oak seedling with this violet.
About 30 yellow violet plants across from #7.
Viola nuttallii var. praemorsa 

Goldfinches and a Cooper's Hawk.

This Cooper's hawk was looking for a little bird to snatch. 
Donna too these two picture of the hawk on my fence. 

Lots of goldfinches are loving the fountain.
