Yellow Violets

These were right next to the path near the meadow.
They have a different leaf than the ones I have.
I moved one to my little flower patch by the old house.
And one to the patch by our entrance to the preserve.
They were very close to the gravel.
A highly prized native yellow viola praemorsa or prairie violet can be found near the base of an oak tree next to the path. This unique yellow viola has violet veins in the flower and so the viola name. We also have native violet-veined white violas or wood violets growing in our area.
