There are also several chocolate and fawn lily plants near the wire fence behind this bench.
Most are located under the trees.

Moving a Few More Plants

A few double snowdrop bulbs to the plant nursery by the Schmitz entrance.
Also planted one Oregon fawn lily root here.
There might be a stray bulb in here, maybe camas?
And a few shooting stars that were too close to the path.

Weeds or Flowers?

There are many areas covered with this plant.
If they all bloom it will be pretty.

Yellow Violets

These were right next to the path near the meadow.
They have a different leaf than the ones I have.
I moved one to my little flower patch by the old house.
And one to the patch by our entrance to the preserve.
They were very close to the gravel.
A highly prized native yellow viola praemorsa or prairie violet can be found near the base of an oak tree next to the path. This unique yellow viola has violet veins in the flower and so the viola name. We also have native violet-veined white violas or wood violets growing in our area.

More Lilies - Possibly Chocolate Lilies.

I found a bunch of plants with dark buds on them.
They might be native chocolate lilies.
The center on might be a fawn lily.

Oregon Fawn Lily

This Oregon fawn lily is next to the path by the pond.
These mottled leaves give it the identification.
They wither and die back in summer.

They are located by the blue house area.
This white one is on the other side of the walk near the St John's wort.

They might not be natives.

Shooting Star Wildflower

These are very early this year.
Found in the triangle meadow near Marvin Rd.
Shooting star is a native perennial wildflower, a member of the Primula family.
It forms basal clumps of lance-shaped leaves, from which 20-inch flowers stalks emerge in spring, covered with drooping clusters of 1-inch white, pink, or purple flowers.
This one is on the knoll on the other side of the path.

False Dead-nettle

Purple dead-nettle is in the mint family, and is called “dead-nettle”
(or sometimes “deadnettle”) because of its apparent resemblance
to stinging nettle, minus the sting.
