This one is by the chocolate lilies.

Native Wildflowers

These are in the circle of rocks by the little house. 

These are the first to be seen this spring. 

Pussy Willows

I finally went looking for the pussy willows and wasn't disappointed.

No other wildflower babies could be seen, yet.

These snowdrops by the tree and stairs are opening. 

Found a couple of doubles in my nursery by Schmitz entrance.

This is the view from the top of the trail next to the cow pasture.

It is 1 mile from our front door.

I walk 3 miles every day.

Beautiful sunshine made the grasses sparkle.

Hummingbird Nest

This nest is on Colville in a small tree.

This is a hummingbird nesting box. 

 

Fir Tree Fallen

Another fir tree fallen, broken at the base.  

Salamander on Engelmann Drive

This cute salamander seemed frozen on the sidewalk.

It is a northwester salamander common in western Washington.

Characteristics: brown, stocky, with a rounded snout.

I moved him to the dirt and put a piece of wood on top of him.

The next day he was gone.

The Pond is Full of Water

From a distance on right side.

This pond is a 'fen', 

The word fen comes from the Old English fenn, which means "mud, mire, dirt, or marsh."

Shelf Fungus

Interesting top and bottom of this shelf fungus.

Dead Fir Tree Falls

This dead fir tree fell over recently.

This one is by the center small triangle and bench.

Strange how many of the young fir trees snap off at about the same height.
