Orchids

Now there are 3 Lady's Tresses by the nurse log.
Four Elegant Piperia in bloom.
Platanthera elegans is a species of orchid known by several common names, including elegant piperia, coast piperia, hillside rein orchid, and hillside bogorchid. This is a showy flowering plant native to western North America.
Another option suggested: Platanthera transversa, the Flat Spurred Piperia, is widely distributed throughout California and extends northward into British Columbia.
Platanthera transversa is a species of orchid known by the common names royal rein orchid and flat spurred piperia.
It is native to western North America from British Columbia to California, where it can be found in forest, woodland, chaparral, and scrub habitat, often in dry areas.

Piperia is a former genus within the orchid family Orchidaceae that has since been subsumed under Platanthera. Piperia transversa: 
This orchid occurs in California, Idaho, Oregon, Montana, Washington and British Columbia in openings of shrublands, and mixed evergreen or coniferous forests. This species is common in California and British Columbia but rare in the remaining portion of the range. There are at least 150 occurrences.

Beaked Hazelnut

Found my first beaked hazelnut on the left side of this trail. 
I could only get a picture doing it selfie style because it was so low to the ground.
Found one by shrub at Schmitz Ct. Entrance.
