About a dozen cigarette butts next to the trail by the fence. 

I picked them up wearing gloves.

Holly with Berries

This holly tree with red berries is on Oak Springs at the end of Bowthorpe. 

Berries are small. 

I braved blackberry vines and dead branches to get close enough to cut a few branches. 

More Cigarette Butts

Some have been there for a few days, some new today.

These are on the trail by the dirt piles behind the alley.

There are very few berries on the trees in the preserve. 

Achlys Triphylla

Vanilla Leaf - Achlys Triphylla

As a Northwest native herbaceous groundcover, Vanilla Leaf is best known for the vanilla smell of its dried leaves during the winter. It is also known as Deer's Foot. Morphology: Vanilla Leaf grows all along the west coast, from northern California well up into British Columbia.

 

Apple Tree

Lots of apples in the apple tree.

Some have fallen on the grass.
