A New Wildflower

Apparently this is a native goldenrod
Seaside goldenrod (Solidago sempervirens)
Yellow flower clusters brighten sunny, dry roadsides and shorelines throughout autumn. A clump-forming mass of pale green foliage stays neat all season. Great in a sunny, dry garden or landscape edge subject to road salt. Flowers provide late season nectar for pollinating butterflies and bees, and the seeds are eaten by birds. Thrives in the rain garden. Deer-resistant.

More Lady's Tresses

I found 2 more lady's tresses this morning.
Some of above are duplicates.
One in this place, one opposite the 'cow' sign.
Now I have 6 altogether.
Five here have blossoms, one in row of 4 doesn't.
Ones at left arrow are the row of 4, middle arrow is by sign.
One on right is 10' from trail by group of 6 trees.
Found this one 7/21 about 5' from trail.
Beautiful and mature!
At the corner by the dead end trail.
Looking towards the fence.
From August 2022.
Blog says there were many more in the corner meadow by Oak Springs.

Western Beaked Hazelnut, Corylus cornuta

Western Beaked Hazelnut, Corylus cornuta
Cornuta means “horn.”  The “horn” or “beak” refers to the husk that encloses and projects past the nut. This species is also known as beaked hazel, beaked filbert; American cuckold nut, western hazelnut or western hazel.
I found and tagged 10 on the tree at the entrance at Schmitz.
The California Hazelnut, or Western Beaked Hazelnut, is found from B.C. to California, mostly on the west side of the Cascades.
