New Wildflower - Harebell

Found the ID. 

Harebell as in bunny. 

There are several patches in the preserve. 

Barred Owl Again

This one fluttered, caught my attention, then flew up to this branch.

It was being harassed by a bunch of juncos.

Location by Walton's field. 

Owl Sighting

This owl flew over the path as I entered the preserve.

This is the 4th time I have seen an owl in the preserve. 

Hummingbird on Flowers

Hummingbird on the Maltese cross flowers.

Cowbird

Cowbird visited the fountain.

 

Foxglove

Foxglove in the preserve along Oakwood near the entrance.  

Owl Sighting

Saw the owl fly to the left of the path near our entrance. 

Wildflowers - Hyacinth Bunching Lily

All of these white wildflowers are right at the entrance by Schmitz. 

The mower took down most of the ones my the steps. 

Hyacinth cluster lily (Triteleia hyacinthina), a nice native. 

Hyacinth brodiaea. 

Triteleia hyacinthina is a species of flowering plant known by the common names white brodiaea, white triplet lily, hyacinth brodiaea, and fool's onion. It is native to western North America from British Columbia to Idaho to central California.

Doe and Fawn

Doe with nursing fawn sees me.

Doe wants to move.

Fawn left.

Fawn follows. 

White Wildflowers

 

There are lots of these along the path.

The mower will cut them off soon.

The parent birds are still here.

 

Wildflower Seedpods

This seedpod looks like a chocolate lily.

It is on the left side of the path very close to my entrance to the preserve.

We all missed its bloom this spring.

These seedpods might not be from the same plants.

Or some may be more advanced.

Nuthatch Babies

I heard the babies crying to be fed and got this picture of the open mouth.

Swallows

The male left and the female went in.

So there is still activity in there. 

 

Owl Sighting

I was looking for fawns, saw this doe, then the owl flew in.

They are impossible to see unless you see them flying.

This swallow has been sitting vigil but I don't see any activity in the bird house.
